  • I've never seen a moutain like that. Must be interesting to travel and see how different landscapes can be.

  • Just found your blog via Poetry Thursday, and found it curious to see "writes from Spain" showing photos of a familiar place. - I lived 16 years in the shadow of the "flat-headed mountain" (Ben Bulben). I love your adventure, I love your opening post, and wish you well in your life. I'll be back to look again... oh... and that Denise Levertov poem of a few days ago? I should have had it sewn into the lining of my clothes as I travelled on my own little adventure recently. Being, looking, breathing. Thank you.

  • Thanks, Dan. I have a thing about skies. Salamanca has amazing, changing skies, and the west of Ireland is sky paradise for me....changing by the minute.

    Thanks, Darius, and welcome.
And Welcome Greenish Lady! Your comment got a full grin (ok and an Irish breakfast and Guiness fattened belly chuckle.) "Writes from Spain" just wandered through Galway, Connemara, Mayo and Sligo with her brother who foolishly had never been. I got a little nervous as I posted, worrying that the photo of Ben Bulben wasn't really Ben Bulben....so it remained anonymous for the moment.

I loved following both Ben Bulben and Croagh Patrick as landmarks....striking how long they stay with you, travelling, and how well they keep you oriented and give this towering, powerful sense of place.

I'm going to try to post a bit about the trip to Ireland..hopefully you'll come back and keep me honest, or fill in what I can't..

eager to visit your blog and check out your own adventure. Thanks for the visit!

  • Great photos...
Are you there, now? Or are these from your last trip?

  • I went again, cream. Can't get enough of the place, and the last visit was so short. I left with an intense craving for at least a couple of weeks on the islands, if not a month.
Hey I am headed to your isle (England) in August and have a few spare days I need to wander somewhere..maybe I will surf over and send you an email to ask your expert advice....

  • I just wandered in via Greenishlady and will be back again. Twas the Irish cliffs that took by breath away.
